Linda's got a brand new bag (barrel).
All the supplies are ready.
I'm firing two of my ceramic bags. Hope they don't break.
Pottery placed in center of barrel ready to be fired.
Gary loves lighting the fire.
Partial lid on for reduction.
This one burned hot for two hours. Hope nothing broke.
Come back for the unveiling, feast or famine. Comments are welcome.
It started to rain in the barrel just now; had to cover it with a piece of plywood, hope it's all ok. Gary said it might catch on fire, hope not.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to see a picture of Gary firing your work!!!
ReplyDeleteAHHHH! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW IT TURNED OUT!!! Hurry and post ;o)
ReplyDeleteHi Tracey, thanks, he sets the pieces in the bottom for me since he is tall and can reach. Then I sprinkle the chemicals and then he loads the wood. Of course he likes to light the fire, you know how men are about fire. come on baby light my fire, ha. Then he's off doing something else.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, thanks, still too hot to unload, I am itching to lift them out of there, but I don't want to risk them cracking after all the work it is to prepare. I can see the wire cage I made for one of the bags didn't melt, so hopefully the bag and purse are still intact. I have some metal trays and tongs to lift them out if it gets dark before they cool down. I'll post as soon as I can.
