Mother nature provided texture inspiration for some of my work now. Meanwhile, Gary and I got the whole garage straightened up and I can actually get to the slab roller. I made some slips with stains and started cleaning up my studio. A bit of Spring cleaning I guess. Comments are welcome.
Hi Patti, thanks, I guess I am eternally curious so I notice all these small details, it also helps that I am not so impatient as I once was in youth.
Hi Meredith, thanks, yeah for spring, not so yeah for cleaning. Ha.
Hi Michele, thanks, I see more slab working coming up very soon.
HI Mel, thanks, the top one is my very favorite texture photo; I have several ways I plan on using this one. This photo was taken at Cambria on the coast of California when we lived near there. The rocks are what the locals there call moon rocks. Apparently the ocean makes these circular holes in the type of rock there. I once collected a small loose rock like this years ago but left at a previous house and have never found another small one. This photo was of a huge bolder at the edge of the water. At least I have this photo to refer to now.
Oh I was on your blog the other day and I got a msg from blogger saying your website was unsafe when I clicked on your swine cup to look at it up close. Blogger says it has to do with the brouser I am using. Then I tried my own blog and I got the same message on a couple of photos here saying the same thing. I have a report into Microsoft to see what in the heck that message means.
Great variety of textures you've got here. I've been Spring cleaning, too, with the great weather we've been having. But it's back to winter on Wednesday. :(
Yay! for all the textures that you show and the fact that we can look forward to what your creative mind will come up with..:)... and ditto on the spring cleaning, me too.. cheers! T.
Great textures, Linda! You're so creative. Love the texture mix you showed, especially those 'moon rocks' (but didn't know they were such; thanks for the backdrop). Your pyramid kettle on the side is gorgeous!
That is what I mean, you really have the eye. I would probably step over or ignore those patterns that look awesome on close up.
ReplyDeleteWell done.

ReplyDeletetextures are great fun! (and so is a slab roller)
ReplyDeletewhat is texture #1? i looked at it for a log time but cannot figure it out :(

Hi Mel, disregard the second part of the note above, it was another Mel's blog.
