Yesterday we had 1.75 inches of rain. The kiln is all loaded for a glaze firing and I decided to risk firing last night. I'm hoping to get up to temp and slow cool before the next onslaught of thunderstorms today. The drum circle is tomorrow if it doesn't rain. Please keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned for some finished pots real soon. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteHi Dennis, thanks, but wondering how you'll make pots with your fingers crossed, ha.
ReplyDeletemay the kiln gods & goddess's be good to you!
ReplyDeleteLove a full kiln. Hope the storms hold off. Can we have some of your rain over here in Louisiana?
ReplyDeleteHi Michele, thanks, I hope the gods are happy today.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, thanks, we're getting more today, but we had a long stretch of nothing so we needed it. I hope you get some too, soon I think you will.
Toes and eyes crossed.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing a kiln loaded and ready to go. Love seeing the opening of a kiln! It's all a mystery until the kiln cools down and always surprises. So good firing blessings...and I can't wait to see the finished pieces!
ReplyDeleteHi Patti, thanks, all's well that ends well, one bit of thunder and no lightening.
ReplyDeleteHi Charlene, thanks, it really is a mystery, even with oxidation and a surprise, I can't wait to open the kiln each and every time; I'm down to 900 F now, but the last 500 takes the longest, so some results will be tomorrow, hopefully good ones.
