Central Ridge Library Exhibit

For the month of August the Central Ridge Library in Citrus County Florida is featuring a pottery exhibit of my work in their entry lobby. The exhibit is an educational display.

Since I'm a hand builder I chose to highlight pottery making methods of pinching, coiling, and slab building with photos of making techniques, descriptions, and examples of each. The top photo, aqua sun, is the latest in my geometric jaunt. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. Very nicely done! Do you mind if I show this display image to my pottery group as a suggestion for us to do something similar for our 50th anniversary next year?

  5. Hi Anna, thanks, no, I don't mind, I have some more photos, but there was a glare on the glass and couldn't get very good photos, let me know if you want those too and the descriptions. I can mail them to you.

Hi Teresa, thanks, I have a variety of work in each category, so it was perfect for this type of display.

Hi Barbara, thanks, that's what I was hoping, that folks would be inspired either to try pottery or it would stimulate their minds and show them that creativeity is only limited by the imagination.

Hi Jayne, thanks, glad you like the sun, it is really intense around here for sure, I might contact the other library and other places now and see if I can exhibit a similar display in other locations.

  6. Outstanding! What a wonderful and inspiring exhibit. Isn't it surprising how ceramic work looks so much better displayed and not spread out all over a studio? Congrats!

  9. Hi Charlene, thanks, you know the pottery does look better displayed in layers like that rather than crammed in to my shelves at home. Ha.

Hi Joan, thanks, yeah I'm hoping to change that model and streamline what I'm doing. Ha.

Hi Michele, thanks, hopefully that will work. I'm thinking of ocntacting other places for this exhibit too.

  10. Thanks Linda. The group I belong to have had displays in libraries before but not with the techniques explained like you have in yours.
