Small Round Dishes
In the last post I forgot to show you the small round dishes I just unloaded from the kiln, here they are. These are 4.75 inches in diameter and an inch tall. I've two sets of four of these, would you sell them as a set or individually? On one of the lighter ones I didn't get the glaze in the pattern so I'll have to re-glaze it, darn.
In other news I'm happy to say I now have some of my pottery at The Garden Shed at 2423 S Rockcrusher Road in Homosassa, Florida. The Garden Shed is open Thursday through Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm and there's plenty of art from local artists to peruse in the shop for your home or garden. Be sure to check out all the rooms, there's a wonderful Tuscan style mural to see. Please tell Louise I sent you. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

Nice work!
ReplyDeletei have never had much luck selling things in sets. i am not sure if it's the higher price that scares people away. if i were the buyer i would like to be able to mix it up and by one or two of each color.
and... if you are going to list them on etsy you can list them individually over a day or two and get on the front page more often.
Hi Michele, thanks, what a good idea of having them in sets of different colors. I have to make more in the other colors. And of course more sizes too. I was thinking more of sets in shops, perhaps with a ribbon around them, but you are right on sets, if you do four they only want two if you do two they only want one. Ha.
ReplyDeletePrice individually and offer a 4 for $xx price with a little savings.
ReplyDeleteHi Dennis, thanks, you are so smart, great tip, so glad you stopped by, blogging is the greatest.
ReplyDeleteI imagine it is a consignment store and how nice that you can just leave them for someone else to sell. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Dennis, people love a bargain. Hope the new venue does well for you :^)
ReplyDeleteHi Patti, thanks, yes most of the artists who put work in the shop have it there on consignment, even galleries are like that taking their percentage of the sold work.
ReplyDeleteHi Anna, thanks, that's true nowadays a bargain is a big draw for many folks, I hope this location works out too.
