Maybe you've done a plain glaze on your tower forms before and I didn't catch it. Nice thing about this glaze is it brings attention to the texture of the flat coils.
Hi Elna, thanks, I'm starting to like these soft muted colors.
Hi Ms. Sparrow, thanks, so glad you can see this piece that way.
Hi Suzi, thanks, yes holding circles and balancing circles; for some reason I am drawn to that shape, well to geometric shapes in general, part of the architectural influences to my work.
Hi Mary, thanks, yes spearminty is a good name.
Hi Julia, thanks, don't look too close. Ha.
Hi Elephant's Child, thanks, yes any word is a word in my book. Ha.
Hi Melissa, thanks, I did one other in the plain glaze and liked how it emphasized the texture of the strips going up as you say. I'd like to get a group of all the types, with plain glaze, with multi colored glaze, with the bargello pattern and so on.
Hi Michele, thanks, yes the thrill and some disappointments this time I am afraid.
This form has personality!

ReplyDeleteIt does have a kind of life to it. I love all the circles and the statement they make.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori, thanks, I didn't even think about the circles of the piece being circles too till today, strange. Ha.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful and what a great color.
ReplyDeleteHugs
I can see that style integrating with many different kinds of decor!
