Listen to the Clay

 Listen
6 1/4 x 4 inches

When I opened the kiln this morning this sculpture said, listen to the clay. I have a hard time forgetting things. I try but sometimes the problems of life, the slights, or negative thoughts pop into my mind.

I need to keep moving forward; I need to listen to the clay. I need to chant, Listen to the Clay, Listen to the Clay. I unloaded this piece at 300 degrees to show you; the rest of the work is probably cool enough now to unload. Thanks for reading and for all your messages.

  1. Hello Linda:
This is such an intriguing piece which we are delighted that you have shared.

It is, we believe, so very important always to try to be positive about things in life so we urge you to continue to 'listen to the clay'.

  2. I hope Listen to the Clay goes on this fellow's birth certificate. Is there room under his cape for little creatures to hide from the rain?

Thank you again for finding Mary Dewey. Her cats are much more whimsical than ours, twenty five years ago. Ours resembled the fellow in the craft article. Another byway in clay.

  4. I also need to find my own equivalent of 'listen to the clay'. I am not certain what that might be, but do know I need to stay more firmly in the here and now.
And I love this sculpture. Thank you.
