The other day we went to Champa a Thai restaurant in Hendersonville. I had pineapple shrimp curry. It seems most often restaurants serve food on plain white plates. Thus the food takes center stage I guess.
Gary had duck curry. Both were delicious. It seemed a shame to have an orchid placed on the food and then discarded, so I took them home to our RV to enjoy.
I thought about making bowls for floating flowers. I did a search on the net and discovered a blog Tea Tour Korea. The image is borrowed with respect from that blog showing a lotus flower floating in lotus blossom tea. Flower floating bowls is another idea for my future clay work. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
curry - yum!
ReplyDeletegreat idea to take the flower home, orchids are so hard to grow (for me at least!) it would be a waste to throw it away.
I love curry and I love that you took the flowers home.
ReplyDeleteHow do you like NC- are you planning to stay yet??
There's a Champa Thai restaurant here in Honolulu, too. It's our favorite place for authentic Thai food.
ReplyDeleteyes, are you planning on staying? yum, that thai place in Hendersonville sounds wonderful. Love Thai food.
ReplyDeleteHi Michele, thanks, I have never tried growing orchids but I do admire them.
ReplyDeleteHi Meredith, thanks, we do like it here but the housing prices are more than we want to pay and the taxes are not favorable to retirees so we are looking in upstate South Carolina.
Hi Gigi, thanks, I am wondering what the word Champa means. We do love Thai food so aromatic and flavorful.
Hi Amy, thanks, we do love it here but finding what we can afford and what we like is proving difficult.
