Our Sunday excursion took us to
Toccoa Falls in Georgia, just across the western border of South Carolina.
The falls have a drop of 186 feet.
If you look closely in the first photo, you can see Gary standing behind a boulder at the base of the falls to give you some perspective.
The falls are on the grounds of aptly named,
Toccoa Falls College.
Every Sunday a buffet lunch is served in the cottage adjacent the falls, so we took advantage.
The huge room was more than a cottage to me, a king's cottage perhaps. I could live in a room like that. Greenwood ceramic studio tours coming up next, I promise. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
It's a beautiful and amazing area. It also makes a pretty nice bike trip.
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is quite a water fall. What a great place for Sunday brunch.
ReplyDeleteA lovely trip. But, the house, the house....?
ReplyDeleteEchoing Joanne. I loved the falls - but do want to know about the house. So very much...
ReplyDeleteI love water falls and that one is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteFancy cottage. The water fall is spectacular...i almost did not find your husband.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely waterfall. Such a treat. The best hikes are to a waterfall. And a lovely place to eat!
ReplyDeleteWe had a great trip, up next instead of the tours I tell you sadly about the one that got away.
