The other day we were looking at houses and drove by this more than life sized carved wooden bear in someone's yard. Extraordinary yard art for sure.
Here he is next to their house. Notice he's taller than the roof; the house is above grade, amazing. Gary and I were trying to figure out how he was moved there, set with a crane? Or was he carved in place? What do you think? Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
I wouldn't be surprised if he was carved in place. That's one BIG bear.
ReplyDeleteHi Michele, thanks, I would love to have that bear in my yard, what a statement.
ReplyDeleteI suspect carved in place.
ReplyDeleteHe is gorgeous. And I also suspect he grew there...
ReplyDeleteI think he was carved in place, too. He's gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteWe have a local carver of over sized bears, totems, busts that are done with a chain saw, in situ, when the client has a large tree come down.
ReplyDeleteIt would give me quite a scare,
ReplyDeleteTo see such a big bear there!

That is one Big Bear! I love to see the stuff creative people put in their yards.
ReplyDeleteBest home security system ever.
ReplyDeleteWhat presence! This will scare real bears away! : D
ReplyDeleteWow that would be the only type of bear I would have in my yard. The real ones are probably just too scary... ;-) Fabulous piece of art.
ReplyDeleteWow, amazing to see! I wonder what a real bear would do if it wandered into the garden.
