Demolition Derby

This week we have a demolition derby going on in our home. Gary is literally chopping out the tile back splash in the kitchen.

Gary is also doing a demolition derby in the bathroom taking out the tile and fiberglass shower and we'll replace that with tile.

Meanwhile I've been looking at kitchen counter top material and tile samples. In other news, our fireplace mantle is ready to be installed. Stay tuned for the reveal on that real soon.

Earlier this week I went to my pottery class but didn't take my camera since it's broken. I've now learned how to use Gary's camera so I'll take some photos to show you next week. Here's some pottery eye candy, Tidal Pool, a wall sculpture I made back in 2008. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  3. That tan and blue and white isn't bad. Oh, wait, that's the old glue. Last time you'll move, what? I couldn't do it again, I think.

  4. Hello Linda:
We can see that you are not exactly having a quiet weekend!! But what fun to be carrying out home improvements and Gary certainly looks very professional at work. Indeed, do you ever hire him out?!!
Take care and enjoy choosing your tiles.

  9. Are you going to make the tile for the kitchen & shower? Your tide pool series would be pretty nice incorporated into the shower wall, no?

Hi Dee, thanks, one time I'd like to move into a house that doesn't need work, would need to win the lotto to do that though, lol.

Hi Joanne, thanks, the blue was the color the walls were painted, and the tan is the wallboard peeled. Sometimes it is daunting for sure.

Hi Barb, thanks, oh I am not sure I am that ambitious to make all the tile, not to mention how much longer it would take, but I think the tide pool piece would be nice, probably hang it on the wall.

Hi Turquoisemoon, thanks, I remember your mentioning about your tile, it is hard work and even harder deciding what tile to pick. Ha.

Hi Marguerite, thanks, well if you had seen the before you would have laughed yourself silly, some folks have no taste for remodeling, oh well. can't wait for it all to be completed so I have morel time for clay.
