Finally got my taxes completed and in the mail. A while ago I purchased a large frozen slab of mahi at Ingles Grocery. I poached half and I smoked half. We've run out of our Florida seafood. Gary is due to take a trip down there in May.
Here are the mahi steaks being poached in the brine I used. Once the steaks were cooked through I let the brine cook till it thickened and we spooned it over the steaks and our rice. Below are the smoked mahi steaks.
A home improvement project has been taking up most of our time so I haven't made it into the studio this week. We've been finishing the interior garage side of the basement with insulation and wallboard. We divided the garage in half with a wall. Since there is only room to drive in one small car we figured the added square feet would be an improvement. If I ever have an open studio the new section will be perfect to set up finished pottery. Keeping the actual studio side of the basement for visitors to tour. We primed and painted the last couple of days.
Tiling is scheduled for Saturday. We're trying the new type of tile that looks like wood, so stay tuned for actual photos. Above is approximately what the tile looks like. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
Home projects can take over until they are done. I do like the tile style and look forward to the real deal.

DeleteElephant Child's last pic on her post reminded me of you, Linda...your craft, that is. It'd make a good subject for your pottery.
