Outside it's like a frozen tundra here. Hasn't gotten above freezing for two days. Our driveway melted because it faces due South, but it's still frozen. I know our snow is minuscule compared to up North. Luckily we stocked up on supplies.
Meanwhile I tried my hand at another woven bowl. This time I made the strips wavy instead of straight. We shall see how it holds together. It's not ready to flip over yet. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
I am glad you stocked up on supplies before the storm. Hopefully, you will survive all of this. Pretty bowl.
ReplyDeleteHi Gigi, thanks, oh we'll survive we have lots of snow living experiences.
DeleteHey Linda
ReplyDeleteI am not interested in pottery but I was following your complaint thread over at the blogger forums. I couldn't respond and tell that not-very-helpful chuck person but my blog has the exact same problem yours is having.
Sometimes a new post will not update at all to other blogs while my blog will update their new posts almost immediately.
It's the most frustrating thing about blogger I have ever encountered and I been dealing with it for years. I wish they would get it fixed.
Hi Pioneer Preppy, thanks I went back and forth with them for over a month with no help at all, now they don't even respond, wonder if they get paid to just sit there and ignore questions. The most I know is that you need to delete labels if you have over 5000 and you need to delete blogs from your blog roll if there are too many or ones that are inactive; even with that my blog isn't updating as it should and I am not sure of the reason. I suspect there is a glitch in their computer code and no one takes the time to fix it and since the blogs are free there is no incentive for them to fix them. Please let me know if you get any other answers because I sure would like my blog fixed once and for all.
DeleteI hadn't thought about the defunct or inactive blogs in my own blog roll as maybe the problem. I noticed this issue would occur from time to time well over a year ago. I sometimes had good luck going into the setting and under "other" switching my blog feed from short to custom or whatever. That often worked but sometimes especially here lately it doesn't work at all.
DeleteI have noticed to it seems to sometimes go through if those I have in my blogroll make a post themselves but here lately even that has failed me.
All this week my new posts have been taking a minimum of 8 hours to update to other blogs. It's really maddening.
yesterday I deleted a bunch more labels and will go back again and delete some inactive blogs and try your suggestion to change the blog feed and see what happens, yes it is maddening we cant' get help from those who are supposed to be helping, I had posted every day on the forum for a month and what a waste of time that was watching and reporting to them when my blog posted as if that had anything to do with it, if they could just look at all the blogs this is happening to instead of telling me my blog doesn't have to be at the top, the top had nothing to do with it was the search engines or the blog feed not working, geez.
DeleteHi Linda I like the look of your wiggly woven basket. I haven't noticed any problems from my end with your blog... Now hoping my own is OK.
ReplyDeleteHi Anna, thanks, what is happening is that when I post my blog it doesn't show up in other's blog rolls for 8 hours, as in yesterday I posted at about 0700 am and it did not show up in feed till about 4 pm.
DeleteI hope it holds up for you. I like it.
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne, thanks, it held up but the top view isn't as I would like it.
DeleteLinda, I haven't noticed any delay in your posts, but then I generally don't check the time it was posted. But I'll keep watch now and see. As for the woven bowl - looks good!
ReplyDeleteHi Rian, thanks, one day the blog is ok and another it takes 8 hours to feed, strange happenings.
DeleteI have noticed off and on that your blog doesn't always update. Since I am a faithful reader, I go and check it even if the icon doesn't show a new post. When I click on it, the new one is there.
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be a nice looking basket. It must be so hard to wait to flip it over!
Hi Michele, thanks, the blog thing is a pain in the neck; once again I flipped it too quickly and had to flip it back again and it's not as nice on the edges as I would like, may have to make another and scrap this one.
ReplyDeleteKeep warm; keep safe. At least you've got much to do to keep you occupied. Good weather for staying at home! Take care.
ReplyDeleteYour latest piece is looking good! :)
I like the wavy strips. It looks very interesting.
