For the past several months I've been thinking of adding soap and soy products to my business model. I plan to learn to make olive oil soap also known as
castile soap and
soy candles. I intend to pair the soaps with my soap dishes and pour soy candles in my ceramic containers. Since both
olives and
soybeans are grown here in Georgia I think they'll make the perfect complement to my pottery. After all
clay is also a natural material occurring here in Georgia. Stay tuned for more details as they develop. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

DeleteI have considered making soaps also since they sell well with my soap holders, it just seems that I have so many friends that make soap and I don’t want to hurt their business. I’ll add another soap maker friend to my list. Good luck with it.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori, thanks, I thought of the soaps this summer when a soap maker was buying my leaf soap dishes and reselling them and I thought wait a minute I must be selling them too cheap. Also when I displayed soap on the dishes I can't tell you how many folks picked up the soap to smell the fragrance. I thought, hey I could be selling a gift pack, same with the overlapping little vases I think they would look super with a soy candle melted in them and then they can be used as a vase afterwards. We only use handmade soap but I don't have any friends that make the soap that are close by so I figure if I can make my own it will save us some money too.
