Yesterday I finally got around to attaching the handles to my latest driftwood baskets.
I've left the tails (on the jute) purposely long because I plan to go to the bead shop today and see if I can find a bead or two on the ends. So these aren't really finished. The handle above on the right looks like a dog's head. Do you see it?
If you recall these are the ones that I used the wrong base glaze. They all turned out fine just not what I expected. I have one more to attach the handle to. I'd like to take these down to the lake and take a few photos with the lake in the background but not sure of the best spot. Would you believe I've lived here almost three years and have only been to the dam and no where else on the lake. I must change that. I forgot to take the measurements of these. This one is about 18 or so inches tall. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
I can indeed see the dog's head. Love the use of the organic wood.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, thanks, at this rate I'll run out of driftwood in about 20 years, lol. Ha.
ReplyDeletesome very nice glazes there. Did you find a nice bead? Some who make handmade beads sell on Facebook - I know this Australian site - bound to be others over your way.

Hi Anna, thanks, I looked on etsy, I make beads but wanted to use some glass or bone, they are being shipped. Next time I'll try to make some complementary ones in advance.
DeleteHi Anna, I just joined the group, wow their photos are great, the ceramic beads usually have a larger hole which I need because I am using jute or leather, but shipping from AU would be prohibitive but still nice to see the eye candy.
DeleteThose look interesting...and they look great, Linda.
ReplyDeleteHi Lee, thanks, my photos aren't the greatest, they look better in person, will try to go to a local sandy lake beach to take a few more after I put on the beads.
