Last night three am
in the living room
clerestory window
half a moon bright.
Late morning 48 degrees
brisk chill air
fluttering on high
all white butterfly.
Mid afternoon warmth
marvel and delight
faint half moon
soft white butterfly.
Night falls slowly
light goes quickly
again bright moon
white butterfly soon.
Oh Linda, you've got another talent. I stood beneath the same moon several nights ago...but didn't have the butterfly to give me inspiration for poetry!
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, thanks, I noticed the moon shining bright and looked up and there it was and I couldn't get the image out of my mind all day.
DeleteLinda, your poem is so beautiful and beautifully written, and what great photos to go with!
ReplyDeleteHi Lon, thanks, I was thinking of the moon and then was surprised to see a butterfly when it was so cold I thought it had to be warmer for them to fly.
DeleteWhat a lovely poem, and inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne, thanks not sure why the moon and the butterfly struck me so, something about the purity and softness of nature with all the turmoil of the world juxtaposed perhaps.
DeleteBoth are truly beautiful. I am so grateful for your artist's eye and mind.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, thanks, sometimes we have to focus on the fleeting the beautiful
