Here are a few photos from the latest firing. I didn't like this condiment dish when it was in it's green state, but now I really like it. I think it would be great if I made three spoons to go with it. I did fire a small spoon and two butter knives on stilts and it worked! First time I have ever tried using a stilt. Yippee!
Here's a large beech leaf bowl. I used brown beech leaves in the winter as the texture and then I hand brushed stains for the leaves on greenware and then fired a clear glaze for the final fire..
Here's a small wavy sided bowl. There is more blue than brown in the bowl but the photo doesn't show that.
This is a large shell textured bowl.
This is a large oval bowl; it may be hard to see but the glaze got some speckles in it which has never happened with this glaze before. You just never know about a firing. Meanwhile I am working on the nests for my birds. I did pick up a soda crate. Remind me never to work with rafia and spanish moss again; it's all over the place. Stay tuned for the birds. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
I really like the glaze on the condiment dish. Blues and browns are my favorite combinations. Waiting to see the birds.
ReplyDeleteHi Rian, thanks, that is the same glaze of the piece I sent to you.
DeleteBeautiful bowls.
ReplyDeleteHi Gigi, thanks so much, hope the big island fares well with the volcano erupting
DeleteMy very tactile self itches to stroke those curves and feel the weight of the pieces in my hands.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, thanks, had lots of strokers at the sale today, lol
