Yesterday we finally took the boat out. We've been checking all the systems and took the boat in to get a new impeller. The impeller pumps water through the motor to keep it cool. Without that a two stroke motor will fry in short order. We found out our boat is in perfect condition with excellent compression. Of course the boat shop wanted to buy it. They wanted to double their money. Nope, not for sale. Above I'm sitting in the back taking Gary's photo steering the boat up front.
Gary is a natural in anything mechanical. I have to get used to the idea of bouncing over a waterway without any land around me. We have the proper life jackets and a whistle and a horn to alert others if we get in trouble. We are all set. But not quite.
There's backing the trailer down the boat ramp, then loading the boat back on the trailer while centering the boat with the wind and waves pushing the boat around. It's a learning curve. Today we'll go out again because practice makes perfect. Stay tuned for more boating adventures. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
It sounds as if you got a really good buy and have some wonderful adventures ahead.
