Chinese Tea Eggs - Update

My eggs have little to no marbling. Looks like the inner skin of the eggs prevented the tea bath from penetrating the eggs.
I decided to put the peeled eggs back in the tea bath. We shall see what happens now. I won't get marbling but hopefully some flavor. Not everything I try turns out as expected. Perhaps you know how to get the tea to penetrate the eggs inner skin? Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. How disappointing. Perhaps after you crack the eggs you roll them around on a hard surface for a bit the marbling and flavour will 'take' better.
