cold dead winter
dormant garden
leafless branch
gray sky curtain
cheek wind biting
gloved hand caress
brown leaf layer
crunching step
tree bark mushroom
smoke filled air
north facing moss
long shadows
bulbs cresting soil
buds swelling limbs
nests now empty
promise soon filled.
I'm wishing our winter would hurry up and arrive. I'm hating the heat and humidity!
ReplyDeleteHi Lee, thanks, and I am hating all the cold and rain; ha, but I was overjoyed to discover two bird nests now revealed in the crabapple and plum trees.
DeleteEchoing Lee here. I am LOATHING the sweaty season. And love the elegance of the filigree of bare tree branches against the sky.
DeleteHi Sue, thanks, isn't it so gray, but so serene just the same.
DeleteAs we're melting from ice covering everything, this is a nice thought of the next season coming...always there's hope.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, thanks, we didn't get any snow but lots of rain, yes the bird nests I saw reminded me Spring is just around the corner, something to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteCold and rainy here too... but interspersed with days in the 60's and sunshine... so can't complain. I like the different seasons and that winter is relatively short here.
ReplyDeleteHi Rian, thanks, I like the different seasons here too but the older I get the less I like the cold.
DeleteCold and rainy here too.. :(
