Steelhead Trout with Snow Peas & Rice
I sauteed some steelhead trout and snow peas in a separate pans. I started the brown rice before each of them since it will stay warm while I cook the trout and peas. I added turmeric to the rice to give it some color plus turmeric is also very nutritious. For the peas I cooked them with a dab of butter and sprinkled some dried mint on top. For the steelhead trout I sprinkled it with some gumbo file and some thyme and sauteed it in avocado oil. Gumbo file is made from dried sassafras leaves and gives a citrusy flavor to the trout. You can't go wrong making a quick meal such as this. The whole meal takes about half an hour, maybe a little more to string the peas. Enjoy!
