No this isn't a typo
this is a cotton t shirt in a madder dye bath.
Madder or Rubia tinctorum is an ancient dye
whose roots are used to make a red dye
for silk, wool, leather, and cotton.

My intention was to dye a t shirt red
with the madder dye bath and then to
use leaves to discharge color (negate)
the color over the red dye.
Sorely disappointed with the final result (first photo).
I am going to try and fix it to at least look a little better.
Back to the drawing board, it's all a mystery!
