Spicy Orange Marmalade


Spicy Orange Marmalade

6 naval oranges with rinds sliced thin and then chopped
2 lemons with rinds sliced thin and then chopped
1 tart apple peeled, cored and chopped 
2-1/2 cups Spring water
3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 tablespoon orange liquor (optional) 

Cook oranges, lemons, and apple with the Spring water for 20 minutes covered to soften fruit. Mash fruit with a potato masher to desired consistency. Uncover, add remaining ingredients and cook till thick. Mixture is ready to jar if a small amount if placed on a cold plate and it solidifies. Enjoy. Great to give as gifts. Makes 5 pints or 10 half pints.
