My latest trip to the library I found two good books on how to use brushes to achieve certain looks. I can apply these techniques to my paintings on clay. The first one is The Sumi-e Dream Book by Yolanda Mayhall which shows what I would call a more loose style of painting. I just did a search to link to this book on Amazon and coincidences never cease. The author lives in Dunnellon, Florida, not thirty miles from my home. Perhaps I'll meet her some day.
The second book, Painting Weathered Buildings by Claudine Nice has many illustrations on which brushes to use to achieve certain surfaces for buildings. These brush strokes and techniques can be applied to any subject matter. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
