In the dead of winter I thought of crochet. I wanted to make a scarf for Gary to wear because the cold air makes him cough. I also wanted to make a scarf to wear around my neck. Now that nicer weather is here I finally bought some skeins and a book. Of course I picked turquoise and purple some of my favorite colors. I taught myself to crochet 30 years ago. I even made up some patterns for doilies with cotton thread. My grandmother used to make crochet doll dresses, pot holders, and toaster covers.
Later I noticed Oasis has a crochet class so I've signed up for one day a week. I've been a bit low this winter and I think I need to get out more. I'm looking forward to relearning. I figured this is something light weight I can carry with me if I'm in the car. I like to keep busy and work with my hands and it doesn't hurt to keep the mind active by learning new things. Last night I fell asleep with a few clay ideas in my head; I'm sure they will be coming soon. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
