Cabin and Critter Platters

Armadillo Platter

Here are a few of the platters from yesterday's firing. I took the photos at night under fluorescent lights so they could be better.

 Running Hare Platter

 Log Cabin Platter

 Egret Platter

Night Owl Platter

I had my first basket weaving class last night and there's a basket workshop the next two days so more about this firing later. I have questions about rims, molds, and under glazes. This post is part of Mud Colony what's happening in the studio. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. Looks like you had a great firing. Doesn't that feel good? The armadillo is speaking to me!

  2. Very nice. It must feel great to have the kiln working again.

  3. My favorite is the armadillo and running hare...they have a folk art look to them.

  4. Nice plates. My favorite is the owl.

  5. That armadillo is so cool!

  6. What a charming assortment!

  7. I just love the armadillo!

  8. Hi Sandy, thanks so much. He is endearing.

Hi Suzi, thanks, I was worried with the new relays and all but so far so good.

Hi Lori, thanks, I have so much work piled up, still have more to fire.

Hi Dee, thanks, these animals are so much fun to see when they come out of the kiln.

Hi Elna, thanks, I wish the branches had come out a little lighter, supposed to be gray but they seem black to me. Glad you like him.

Hi Dennis, thanks so much. Hopefully more critters will join these. Ha.

Hi Studio Khnoum, thanks so much, they are so unique in their physic.

Hi Ms. Sparrow, thanks, they are keeping each other company for now.

Hi Lori, thanks, he likes showing off his armor. Ha.

  9. Love the running hare - I do like hares. The owl is also awesome! And, I really like the texture on your beautiful egret.
    Wonderful work Linda :)

  10. Hi Vicki, thanks so much. I am glad I finally got all this work fired.

  11. Lovely new work Linda! I especially love the critters!! I think the armadillo is my very favourite! Are they are chartreuse in colour?

  12. Hi Brenda, thanks so much, that must be my camera lighting making them chartreuse in color, they are various under glazes brushed on and then a clear glaze over the top of them

  13. So cute!
Love the Armadillo Platter particularly :)

  14. Hi Sadhana, thanks, I made the armadillo because one visited our yard, so cool to see them in person rooting around in the grass.

  15. Ilike them all, particularly the cabins...they are quite lovely. And of course, I like the hare. Nice!
