Looks like I'm on a roll with the feeling free, this time it's free flowing. Ha. What is it? I don't know, but I like the blended stains and underglazes. My inspiration is a waterfall. You know the ones where you can walk behind and feel the cool mist of the water as you're standing there. And all you can hear is the water pounding in front of you. I really wanted this to be taller and more narrow, next time. I could have cut some slits and put a figure behind the waterfall, next time for that too. Sometimes I have to try something before I get what I want. Click the waterfall link and check out all the cool waterfalls in the world. I particularly like the photo of Havasu Falls shown. What's you're favorite waterfall?

Another amazing piece...the colors are perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteHello Linda:
ReplyDeleteThis is yet another very effective piece of work. We can well see that translated to a tall vase, a high 'waterfall', it would be equally attractive although we are less sure about including slits as this would, for us, disrupt the flow [no pun intended].
my favorite waterfall is Arethusa Falls in the White Mountains of NH. it's a great place to hike...

beautiful colors on your free flowing piece.
Always wanted to do that behind the waterfall thing. I used to live on two lakes separated by a waterfall. We lived on the lower lake facing the waterfall. That has to be my favorite.
ReplyDeleteHi Turquoisemoon, thanks, I'm not sure I'll fire this, but I do like the blended colors almost like chalk or water color. After seeing the photo of Havasu Falls I had some ideas on a waterfall piece I might make with these same colors and more geometry of the rocks included. We shall see.
ReplyDeleteHi Jane and Lance, thanks, perhaps you are right about not cutting any slits in it, gotta stick to going with the flow, ha.
Hi Michele, thanks, oh when we go up to NH I must make a point of seeing them, hopefully one of these days we'll make it up there.
Hi Patti, thanks, where were the two lakes, somewhere here in Florida? You know the only place I was behind a waterfall I think was in the Sierra Nevada Mountains but I can't recall where. Oh maybe once in Hawaii too.
