Here's some green inspiration for you. This frog was on the hood of our car the other evening. He's about an inch in length.
This grasshopper on our lamp post is bigger than the frog. He was moving in very slow motion.
There's Gary at an air show we went to a few years back.
Addendum: I was just reading Barbara's blog, Alchemy of Clay, and she mentioned Lana Wilson's article about developing style, it was such a good article I thought I'd also refer to it here.
Good Heavens! You sure do have fancy grasshoppers in your neck of the woods. Ours are just green! What is the thing in the photo below the chrysalis?
ReplyDeleteButter looks completely at home in the sink. I think cats shrink and expand according to available space!
lovely set of images Linda. any idea what sort of butterfly might emerge from that chrysalis?
ReplyDeleteAlso don't know the fruit below the chrysalis...is it papaya? Loved your lavender farm look, but your darker hair now is pretty flattering too. Thanks for sending on the inspiring ideas from my post.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzi, thanks, that is an elephant heart plum which is shaped like a heart. I grew those in my gardens in California.
ReplyDeleteHi Anna, thanks, the monarch butterfly will emerge from that crysalis, the gold dots are the giveaway for that one.
Hi Barbara, thanks, elephant heart plum before it gets ripe, it turns a heart colored red when ripe.
I liked the farm house photo best. Could your build a farm house of clay?
ReplyDeleteThese are really great ways to look at colors and how other shades and colors work with them. Nice. I like the old farm house the best too. It has stories.
ReplyDeleteOh so green! Love the old turquoise pickup a lot!
ReplyDeleteThat was a very green frog and a very big grasshopper. Have a great time.

Gosh, these are all so pretty! My favorite, of course, is You! But running a close second is a tie between the old house and that green truck. Linda, you really take some cool pictures!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos but I can't help wondering about the tiny frog on the car. How did it jump so high with those tiny little legs? That old abandoned house was a great shot.
ReplyDeleteyou know grasshoppers freak me out! Otherwise love the pictures.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the photos - amazing (as always)!...I normally love grasshoppers, but I'm with M~ on this one. The sheer size of that fella is enough to give me the creepies.
ReplyDeleteReally nice shots. I do remember those tiny frogs with giant voices. Don't miss those grasshoppers however.
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne, thanks, you know I've built several houses of clay, plan to build more one of these days, this one is so cool with all the vines growing over it.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori, thanks, that house was on the gulf coast near Appalachacola, sad to see it deteriorating so, but a good photo opportunity.
Hi Helen, thanks, that old pickup used to be ours, since sold to a collector in LA who uses them in movies.
Hi Elna, thanks, lots of inspiration around that's for sure.
Hi Turquoisemoon, thanks, I was a lot thinner then too. Ha. I always try to keep my camera with me.
Hi Ms. Sparrow, thanks, yeah how did such a little guy jump so high, look at his back legs how large they are in comparison to the rest of him, amazing. Gary had to turn the car around for me to take that photo, he gets irritated, but it is always worth it.
Hi Meredith, thanks, I thought of you when I posted the grasshopper, but can you see why I posted him, his colors and patterns are so wonderfully inspiring.
Hi Julia, thanks, they are kind of creepy especially when they move so slowly and they look as if they are looking at you, but his colors and patterns were so cool.
Hi Patti, thanks, the little frog with the big voice, that could be the title of a book. Ha.
Hi Linda, wondered if you would be kind enough to mention on blog or tweet to followers my eBook free promotion, Candle Dark, it's on my blog - taking place 6th to 8th July, please. Don't worry if this is a problem. Kind regards, Carole.
ReplyDeleteHi Carole, thanks, it's mentioned on my blog post today.
