Breaking News - a Valentines Miracle - Betty Girl returned. At 4 am this morning I thought I heard meowing outside but thought it was my imagination. Then I looked down at the deck out the french door and it was Betty. I opened the door and she ran in. She was very hungry, then thirsty, and now she's sleeping.
I put her right beside me on the desk on a pillow. I covered her up with one of my blouses. She likes being covered up. All I can think is she must have been locked up in someone's garage or barn all this time. She's been gone for six days, poor little thing. She's gotten skinny again. Must not have had any food or water the whole time. She came home just in time since Monday it's supposed to snow and mid week it's supposed to get down to a low of 1 F. Welcome home Betty Girl. Happy Valentines to you all. If you missed it scroll back to the previous post of an opossum on our deck. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

ReplyDeleteHi S Dean, thanks, yes the stories they could tell.
DeleteAre you sure she wasn't visiting your possum ?
ReplyDeleteHi Dennis, thanks, yes she was a surrogate baby possum, Ha. No she is really skinny and hungry and thirsty, she must have been locked up some where.
DeleteAnd all this time I thought she had died.

ReplyDeleteHi Suzi, thanks, so glad she got back this am as wind chill advosory after noon today
DeleteCats are so resilient. It never occurred to me she could be shut in somewhere. Happened to a cat of ours once. Yes, she has lost weight. Tough way to do it.
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne, thanks, I never thought that either. I once had two other cats disappear on Halloween for three days and then they came home. I thojght for sure someone had done them harm due to the holiday. turned out they were locked in a neighbors van, they did their business on a plastic bean bag he had in there and he just took it out and washed it off and his van was good as new
DeleteIsn't that great that Betty is back! So happy for you and her...I know she's been thinking about you all this time, wherever she was shut in. Happy Valentines Day!

ReplyDeleteOh I am so glad your sweet cat returned! We had a cat that left for about two weeks and then just showed up one day walkin around in the yard. Almost like, "Hey people, I'm home. What's up!" Ha! Glad she returned and is ok.
ReplyDeleteHi Pam, thanks, in this case I think she didn't intend to be gone but got locked up inadvertently somewhere, glad she's back

ReplyDeleteHi Cazz, thanks, hope we find out where she was so it won't happen again, supposed to be minus 1 F later this week.
DeleteHi Linda! So glad Betty is back. Never give up hope. Our Betsy was gone 3 months and returned thin and scraggly (Vet said it looked like she existed on crickets), but she rebounded just fine. Lots of TLC !
ReplyDeleteHi Rian, thanks, I think my Betty was locked up in a car or garage I hope she left them some fragrant packages. lol, it was just so cold and I had visions of fox, coyote and bobcats in the neighborhood. She doesn't want to venture out now.
ReplyDeleteThat is the best news ever!!! So happy she's back. Sweet thing. You might be delighted. Poor thing, eh?
ReplyDeleteYay! Welcome home!
