The pots are too hot to unload yet, but here is a sneak peek. The kiln isn't as full as it normally would be since pots were broken when I fell. I have to work in the gallery today, So stay tuned for individual photos coming soon.
On the small white pots I tried a shiny white glaze rather than the satin clear I usually use. The mushroom cheese board and the leaf bowl have the satin clear, You can see the cream color of the clay with the satin clear. I hope that cheese board doesn't have any cracks in it. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
Good wishes for all your pots to come out well. On my recent tourist journey, I had no idea there would be more stairs than just between floors...I couldn't do it again. Once we went to the basement it was up and down at least 5-6 times (at least it felt like it)
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, thanks, didn't they have an elevators ? wonder what handicapped folks do ?
ReplyDeleteIt must be kiln opening day in Georgia. Those look good, I hope the rest do too.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori, thanks, everything turned out super, thank goodness.
DeleteThe sneak peak is exciting.
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne, thanks, all's well that end's well
DeleteLook great! I hope your cheese boards are perfect. I have had a few crack as well. I blamed it on bisque firing too quickly, but who knows. The cracks didn't appear until they went through the glaze firing, but they could have been hairline cracks that I didn't see before glazing.
ReplyDeleteHi Michele, thanks, the first cheese board cracked after the glaze firing, the second one in the bisque. I bisque on medium and do a hold for ten minutes at 200 and they have dried for weeks. Someone on clay buddies asked if I had wet the edges to smooth them and I did with a damp sponge I will not do that with the next ones and see how that works. The red mushroom didn't crack but it's thinner so that may also be my problem.
DeleteThank you for sharing the excitement of the sneak peek. Have a wonderful day - and I hope your knee is continuing to ease off.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, thanks, the knee is better but still real stiff. I suspect it will take weeks, hopefully I don't have any permanent damage.
DeleteLooking good...fingers crossed no cracks...
ReplyDeleteHi Charlene, thanks, so far no cracks although the first one cracked a week after the glaze load so we shall see.
DeleteQuite an awesome sneak peak :)
ReplyDeleteHi Keith, thanks, I'm always afraid to open the kiln and then when I get to look I am so excited with I see the results are good.
