Yesterday I made it down to the studio and applied stains to the two rabbits and the cat. The cat is about 16 inches tall. The rabbit heads are permanently attached but the cat has a removable head. I hope to bisque fire these and other pieces I made some time ago real soon. Then on to the second firing for glaze. Since it's been so long I know they're good and dry.
My swollen leg doesn't seem to be reducing in size much. What if the swelling never goes down. Gary keeps telling me I'm getting old. I'm young in my mind, my body just doesn't heal as quick as it used to I guess. My three furry friends seem hopeful I'm banking on their being right. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
Good luck with the leg.
ReplyDeleteHi Dennis, thanks, seems like I need some luck with it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure someone will love those rabbits for Easter and cats are always popular... hope your leg is soon right.
ReplyDeleteHi Anna, thanks, I was trying to get the rabbits completed before Easter but then I fell I hope I can get them done in time. I think any animals are popular most times of the year. This darn leg is really holding me back.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't tell us what the medicos said about your leg. How soon will you be better?
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne, thanks, they said they thought it would take 10 days for the swelling to go down, if not then it might be something else, which I hope it isn't
DeleteWhat neat harbingers of spring. Hope the leg is better soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Suzi, thanks, I hope I can get up the energy to make more of these. This leg is really a pain in the neck.
DeleteSending more healing energies your way. Lovely critters! Cats know, lie around and lick it...what? a bit too far? oh well, that's the problem then!
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, thanks, couldn't reach it if I wanted to lick it. Ha.
DeleteI like what Barb said, "lie around and lick it..." that is what a cat would do. But I doubt if you want to do that (maybe soaking it would be a good alternative). And I love your little critters (bunnies and cat)!
ReplyDeleteHi Rian, thanks, that is so true, hard for me to lie around though, I have them firing right now, fingers crossed.
DeleteJust in time for Spring! These critters are adorable.
ReplyDeleteKeep you chin up and keep thinking youthful thoughts. You will be back in the studio in no time.
Hi Michele, thanks, I hope so, getting cabin fever.
ReplyDeleteCharming! Especially like the idea of the jar aspect of the kitty. Could be used to store special treats....do hope the swelling goes down soon...
ReplyDeleteHi Charlene, thanks, the jar might even be tall enough for pasta, not sure, will see after firing.
DeleteLove your critters. Sending healing thoughts for your poor sore leg.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, thanks, I am probably my own worst enemy, working when I should be resting but you know how that goes.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet critters. We all love white rabbits, don't we, oh and cats as well!
ReplyDeleteIf your leg has pain, have you tried soaking in an Epsom salts bath? That's what I have to do after my physical therapy. I don't know if that would help the swelling, but it might.
Hi Barbara, thanks, oh I'll give that a try; today is the first day it seems to be doing better, thank goodness
DeleteHi Barbara, thanks, my leg doesn't have any pain, just swollen and stiff. If only I could afford PT, perhaps some day.
ReplyDeleteAwww....they are so cute. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lee, thanks, hope they do well in the kiln
DeleteVery cute, I'm sure it felt good to be back in the studio. Strains seem to take forever to heal. Good luck with it.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori, thanks, I think that must be it I strained my whole leg when I fell and I just expected it to be ok in one day, finally getting a bit better today.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love these. Fingers xxx'd with the kiln...
ReplyDeleteHi Turquoisemoon, thanks, the are firing the final glaze right now, made it safely through the bisque firing.
