Let Me Lie Down

Let me lie down
far from a world full of ills
Let me lie down
away from senseless kills
Let me lie down
safe from disease, drugs and pills
Let me lie down
please, let me lie down

Let me lie down
free from indiscriminate crime
Let me lie down
folks killed in their prime
Let me lie down
away from filth and grime
Let me lie down
please, let me lie down

Let me lie down
away from fake news
Let me lie down
false opinions and views
Let me lie down
away from the big ruse
Let me lie down
please, let me lie down

Let me lie down
with those all too innocent
Let me lie down
with every single dissident
Let me lie down
with all of the militant
Let me lie down
please, let me lie down

Let me lie down
free of politicians without gumption
Let me lie down
most have no compunction
Let me lie down
promises then repetitive resumption
Let me lie down
please, let me lie down

Let me lie down
away from ineffective government
Let me lie down
all the money's been spent
Let me lie down
squandered without our consent
Let me lie down
please, let me lie down

Let me lie down
I want to disengage
Let me lie down
in this day and age
Let me lie down
when I want to rage
Let me lie down
please, let me lie down

Let me lie down
free from false friends and foe
Let me lie down
'cause I've nowhere to go
Let me lie down
for I've nothing to show
Let me lie down
Please, let me lie down

Let me lie down
from whence I came
Let me lie down
in dust, free from pain
Let me lie down
all insults will wane
Let me lie down
please, let me lie down

Let me lie down
hopeful, yet what do I spy
Let me lie down
it's more pie in the sky
Let me lie down
makes me want to cry
Let me lie down
please, let me lie down

Let me lie down
there's the smallest inkling
Let me lie down
wise words I hear sprinkling
Let me lie down
from those with much wrinkling
Let me lie down
I saw their eyes twinkling.

  5. Wonderful!

I had a lie in this morning. I didn't want to get out of bed...so I did what I wanted to do...stay there longer than usual....much to Remy and Shama pleasure. They didn't want to get up, either!

I regular feel like pulling the covers over my head and leaving them there, though...just lie down...and wish for only goodness throughout our world.

    1. Hi Lee, thanks, yes sometimes it's hard to get up with all that is wrong with the world, but then we must, our kittens are begging us for food. lol
