My Garden in Early Summer

 Carolina jessamine
This year I added two half wine barrels for more tomato plants
These tomato plants are loaded with tomatoes but none are ripe yet
they grow much better in the barrels, better drainage and loose soil
Here's a variety which grows in clusters
Crocosmia is blooming, more food for hummingbirds
not all is well, something has eaten the tops off of five pepper plants
not sure if they will survive this severe pruning
 the dill is blooming
not enough to harvest so I'll scatter the seed
a moth which looks like a leaf, what great camouflage
I'll be at the farmers market Saturday 7 am to 1 pm.

  3. The wine barrels sound like a great idea. Wonderful to see the photos of your garden. Your Carolina Jasmine looks lovely in the pretty vase.

    1. Hi Denise, thanks, the barrels are really working out, they dry out quicker though, so need more water than tomatoes in the ground.

  4. Mid-winter here...not too cold, though. Good snuggling up temps...great to binge on streaming series, with my two furry mates to keep me company...or vice versa.

We had some lovely rain during the past few days or so. Heavy showers off and on.
