This past winter Gary thinned some small pine trees in our upper forest. They were too thick and robbing moisture and nutrients from the other trees and shrubs.
Gary also cut some of the lower limbs of larger trees so we could see into the forest. I never even realized how many mountain laurel we have growing up on the hill behind our home.
The blossoms start out pink then fade to white. Now when we gaze into the forest we have longer views and see a greater variety of flora. Thanks for reading and for all your comments. Be safe and well.
Love the mountain laurel. Good idea to push back the forest. This is civilization (though these days I'm not so sure.)
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, thanks, I'm nos so sure either, we are surrounded by forests so we feel like we are living in the wilderness which is nice.
DeleteI will miss seeing the mountain laurels blooming this year. Yours are lovely! And such a neat wall pocket too.
ReplyDeleteHi Denise, thanks, oh what a shame, our hills are steep so it's nearly impossible for me to get up there but at least now I can see them from a distance.
DeleteHow very, very beautiful. Heartbalm. Much needed heartbalm.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, thank, yes we all need as much heartbalm we can get these days.
DeleteLooks beautiful. I love that wall pocket you made as well.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, thanks, I should make more wall pockets but no where to sell them since crafters were cancelled from the farmers market.
