Buy It and Try It - Baked Tofu


My motto for cooking is buy it and try it.
Well I tried baked tofu and that will be the last time.
There is nothing wrong with tofu, it's just rather bland.
Start by draining firm tofu and
 then weighting it to remove excess water.
Blot with paper towesl to get more water out of it.

Cut the tofu into 1 inch square bites.
Dredge the bites on all sides in the spice mixture you prefer.
I used cornstarch and togarashi spice blend.

Place on a parchment lined sheet pan and
bake in a 400 F oven for 15 minutes till crispy.
While tofu is baking, make up a dipping sauce;
I used soy and ginger for the tofu bites.
I served them on a bed of wilted spinach.
