I am quite disappointed with this one, but
dh says he will wear it, we shall see what happens after washing.
All I can think of is the bundle was too close to the water
and was absorbing water from the steam bath
and it caused the plant dyes to become overly saturated.
Or perhaps it was in the iron bath too long.
I used 1/2 teaspoon of ferrous sulfate in one gallon of water.
Left in iron bath for 40 seconds.

Both were an aluminum acetate mordant, then a quick iron dip.
No blankets, nor barriers.

Rolled and bound, steamed for 105 minutes.
Apparently there are some plants that will discharge they dye
which essentially removes some of the darkness
with the outline of their leaves. I will be
exploring what to use to day. Stay tuned.
