Carolina Spice Bush & Staining the Deck

We've spent the last three days staining the deck. You might recall last week Gary pressure washed the decks. We decided to use Thompson's Water Seal. You can see the difference where the chair is sitting.

Since it's a semi transparent stain the color called Acorn Brown, you can still see some of the wood grain. We've been working on the deck for three days and it's still not done.

What a difference it makes. The deck looks brand new in comparison. But it's a lot of work and we seem to get the best results by hand brushing the stain, which means a lot of up and down. Ugh.

Meanwhile my neighbor offered to give me some seeds she saved. It's a Carolina Spice Bush. We'll see if it comes up from seed. One of these days I'll get another camera so I can take some photos in focus. Ha. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
