Bacon wrapped green beans are really delicious and relatively easy to make. Cut the ends off of the green beans and par boil fresh green beans for five minutes. Drain and immerse in cold water to stop the cooking process. Take bacon slices and cut in half and cook till soft and slightly cooked but still pliable. I use no nitrate bacon. Take four or five green beans and wrap them with half a bacon slice and secure with a toothpick and place in baking dish
In a separate pan mix 1/4 cup butter, 1/8 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup brown sugar and minced garlic. I keep a jar of pre-minced garlic in the refrigerator for just such recipes. Cook sauce while stirring till thoroughly and warmed but not boiling. Drizzle sauce over the green beans and bake at 400 F for 15 minutes. Vegetarians could wrap a thin slice of carrot or other contrasted color of vegetable around the green beans for a festive look.
