Perhaps you recall the cat house I made last year. Well we decided that Barney's Cat House needed improvement so we built this one for him. Of course he's afraid of it but we are slowly encouraging him to use it. We put a little cat food inside and he goes into eat it. The faux sheep skin was his original bed so it has his scent on it. If it's not really cold Barney prefers to sleep out of doors and especially during the day. I don't want some critter to sneak up on him sleeping so I thought he'd be safer in a cat house.
I need to make a ceramic plaque with Barney's name on it. Hey that's a good idea I can make dog and cat house names for other's too. See how my mind works.
In other news prepare to be grossed out. I had run out of coffee so yesterday I decided to drink some tea I had in the refrigerator. About half way through I tasted something slimy and quite large. There was a huge glob of goop in my mouth. I ran the sink and spit it out. I was thoroughly disgusted. I called the company and apparently they know their tea can develop a slimy mold. Yes a slimy mold and this isn't limited to just this brand. Any brand can get it. Tea is susceptible to developing mold. Be sure to check the date on the shoulder of the tea and store tea in refrigerator and check each bottle to be sure it doesn't have a glob of goop in it.
I spoke to the company and FDA and both are aware of this mold problem. The company said that sometimes the cap gets loosened and a small amount of air gets in the bottle and the mold starts to develop. Brewed tea is pasteurized but not sterilized. The FDA said if any food isn't prepared at home it is suspect. Now if you do a search on the internet, you might come across a site with a list of recalled items. You'd be surprised at how many items a day are recalled.
The FDA suggested I read every package thoroughly before I buy it. What? I read the expiration dates and the ingredients already because I have to be sure there isn't any gluten or other worrisome chemicals in the product. Not only that I rarely get anything that is processed. Supposedly there is a slim chance of my getting ill unless I have a compromised immune system. With celiac disease my intestines aren't up to full par, hope all is well. Meanwhile the kiln is cooling down, so stay tuned for more new work. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
