My pottery will be in the guild booth. Entrance is free and there's plenty of parking. I only made one of these tree luminaries white. Well actually glazed an outmeal color. Alternative Selling Locations

Recently I saw an article in the local newspaper looking for vendors for an antique mall which was expanding. I have a few antiques to sell so I thought I'd stop by to check out the location. The mall was clean and well stocked with a variety of antiques and collectibles including some old pottery. A light bulb came on and I thought to open a booth at the mall combining some of my pottery with my antiques.

Yesterday Gary and I set up our small booth at the Antique Mall at Victoria's Center in Blairsville. I'll let you know how this alternate selling location for pottery pans out. Now I'm thinking there must be other locations suitable for my pottery. A few which come to mind are book stores, coffee shops, gift stores, and so on. What locations do you think would be good fit for pottery? Do you sell your work in any alternative locations? Could you please share? Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

U Haul Geography Lesson, Athabasca Sand Dunes in Saskatchewan

Who knew I'd get a geography lesson from a U Haul truck. When Gary made it to Georgia with the U haul truck yesterday I saw a description of shifting sand dunes in Canada painted on the side. I never knew Canada had sand dunes. I investigated this morning and read they're the Athabasca Sand Dunes in Saskatchewan. The dunes are the most northerly active dune formation on earth. I'm adding a trip to the dunes to my bucket list. In fact Canada in general deserves to be on my bucket list. My mind conjures up wild and pristine scenery at every turn of a future trip.

This past week Gary went to Florida and transferred all of our possessions from our treasure bus to a 26 foot U Haul truck. All our worldly goods acquired over 60 odd years are contained in the U haul minus our motorhome, bus and cars. We're  leaving the treasure bus in Florida; we think we'll have an easier time selling it there. Click the link to read about how we moved from California to Florida on shoestring. If you're looking for a good moving or storage bus let me know. Other uses for the bus are hunting bus, RV conversion, tail gait bus, and many others. The bus is 40 ft long is diesel, with new tires and batters and extremely low miles for a diesel. More info to follow.

This morning we're transferring all our goods into a storage unit in Blairsville, the city in the North Georgia mountains, where we're moving to shortly. It's just twelves miles from North Carolina. I was up early enough to enjoy a beautiful Georgia sunrise. Getting up and out before my usual time affords me the opportunity to enjoy the early morning colors of winter. Our new home move in date is almost here. Coming up new studio sketches, book reviews, herbal delights, and more. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

Looking and Getting Closer

Several windows are missing in the house above but as we drove by someone was mowing the grass around the home. I was sad to see the house deteriorating. We're now looking in the North Georgia mountains in our search for a new home. We started looking in the Clarkesville, Cleveland, Helen, and Sautee Nacoochee areas but have branched out to a slightly higher elevation. I must say we've become smitten with the Blairsville, Blue Ridge, and Young Harris areas. The mountain views and vistas are spectacular.

Speaking of branches, several real estate listings mentioned a branch on the property. We learned that's a local word for a small stream. The Fall leaves are really starting to turn; my photos don't do the vistas we've been seeing any justice. I plan to set aside a day to try and capture some of the wondrous colors we've been seeing to show you.

In the meantime check out this video, there are forest, stream and mountains views, shopping, art, and culture. There's even a potter demonstrating. Yeah!

We're hoping to have a new home before Thanksgiving and with any luck we may just be able to manage it. Yesterday we found a couple of potentials, so please keep your fingers crossed for us. Gary and the cats and I really want to settle down again. It's really hard work and time consuming looking for a new home. Perhaps we're a bit picky but Gary says we should find a place we can stay for a good long while. These last three photos are in an RV campground we stopped by, hoping to get closer to our search area.

Most of our married life we have lived in the mountains and for some reason we're now drawn back to those types of locations. I really enjoyed living in Florida but I now find it curious that I don't miss living there as much as I thought I would. I miss the fresh seafood and the trips to the rivers and beaches but I don't miss living there. Stay tuned for more photos and news about our search coming up real soon.
