The Christmas Song
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping on your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.'
Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe,
Help to make the season bright,
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow,
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.
They know Santa's on his way;
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh.
And every mother's child is going to spy,
To see if reindeer know how to fly.
And so I'm offering this simple phrase,
To kids from one to ninety-two,
Although it's been said many times, many ways
A very Merry Christmas to you.
When I got home I said to Gary I don't know how to roast the chestnuts. He said why did you buy them. I said because I can look it up on the net and find out how. Here is a video which explains how to roast the chestnuts much butter than I can.
This weekend I'll try my luck with the recipe and see how the chestnuts turn out. If you see chestnuts in the grocery, give them a try. Chestnuts are the only nut with Vitamin C and lots of other nutrients good for you. Images borrowed from the net. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
