Nerikomi test tile fresh out of the kiln. This is a tile I made to experiment with nerikomi. To combine two different colored clays as one. I rolled out a small piece of white stoneware. Next I rolled out a thin piece of dark brown stoneware and placed the brown stoneware on top of the white stoneware clay and rolled it into the white clay. Then a coiled some thin pieces of white stoneware which I placed on top of the dark brown stoneware in a loose tree form. 

Lastly I added a dark brown moon above the symbolic mountains with trees. Lastly I crumpled newspaper and rolled the newspapers onto the whole tile to create some creases to simulate an overall rustic look. For the glaze fire I used a pale green celadon glaze.
