The One That Got Away, NOT Our New Home and Studio

Sadly here's the house we just lost in Upstate South Carolina. We would have had a filtered view of Lake Hartwell. Gary said it was a fitting home for an artist. The seller backed out after the inspections. We even lost money on this deal and I am totally frustrated with the whole process.

The middle floor and upper floors would have been our living areas. We never would have thought we'd get a home with stairs; we're hoped the stairs help to keep us in shape. The property is filled with ground covers, shrubs, and trees with little maintenance to do. I had hoped to put in an herb, small vegetable, and flower cutting garden though.

The bottom floor would have been my new studio. Yep there's a gas fireplace and lot's of natural light and a small kitchen area, bedroom and bath. I had plans of having a pottery retreat. Outside the bottom floor I had planned to add a small building for my kilns.

Here's a view from the upper deck. Gary liked the fact he felt like he was up in the sky on the deck. Still dreaming of his days flying in airplanes. There's lots of lakes here; we do plan to get another boat, maybe a pontoon boat or a sailboat, and do some relaxing and exploring. Even though I didn't show you the photos in advance, it was jinxed anyway, the seller backed out.

In the meantime we're looking at other possibilities. We made the mistake of driving close to Clemson on a Friday and there was lots of traffic, Tigers football practice? Then on a Saturday we went to Athens, Georgia and there was even more traffic for the Bulldogs game. The studio tours will be next. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
