This was going to be a tall tower but somehow it turned into a tone on tone Christmas tree. The tree is about 12 inches tall. I've left a hole in the top for steam to escape during firing. Maybe I'll make a star topper to insert after firing. I've made a plate (drying separately) so the tree could effectively hide a secret treasure. Perhaps milk and cookies for Santa Claus?
I've drizzled the creamy beige underglaze thickly and randomly over the top. I debated whether to add any other colors. But I think I'll keep this one tone on tone. Maybe I'll try another one of these with the underglaze applied around each layer like drifts of snow. Of course I can think of lots of other ideas for various colors and style of trees.
