An Old Barn

Here's my acrylic painting from my class a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't able to go last week because I was firing the kiln and this week my neck was too bad. I changed the edging around the barn to include some shrubbery and worked on the trees. The trees on the right look like they're leaning to the right. Every time I take a photo of this painting I see something else. I might call this done though. I like the old barn. I always have liked old weathered wood buildings. If you want to click back and see the first section of the painting, click here.

I wonder if I can buy household molding and make my own frame or is molding different than framing wood. I don't have a router but I do have a compound miter saw. Hum. We shall see what I can come up with. I've seen a lot of painting nowadays without matting and the frame going right to the edge of the painting. What do you think? Update I found several ways to make frames on Pinterest. Will be trying my hand at these this weekend. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

My Painting So Far

Here's my painting so far. Last week I painted the trees and forgot to show you. This week I painted the barn. My trees are a little stiff I'll work on those again next week. For those of you who are just joining in, I am taking an eight week acrylic painting class.

Meanwhile I fired a bisque load and am getting ready for the farmer's market tomorrow. Hope all the rain we're getting today lets up tomorrow. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
