The baskets are coil constructed Panamanian traditional
Wounaan rainforest baskets. Basket makers are inhabitants of the
Darien Gap rainforest, a nearly impenetrable area of the Panama peninsula. It seems isolation breeds perfection. These baskets are examples of work made completely separate from modern civilization. They are constructed with materials available only from that region and dyed with local
