Yesterday one of the pieces I made was this large leaf bowl using maple leaves as a resist. My idea was to show the maple leaves as they might look in the night sky. As I peeled back the leaves I thought about using a transparent colored glaze (such as a green celadon).
This bowl is about 4 h x 12 w inches. I could use a clear glaze but I wonder if I used a green translucent how it would turn out? What do you think? Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
This bowl is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne, thanks, nothing can beat mother nature's maple leaves for their texture and shape.
ReplyDeleteGreat...I love your idea of the transparent green of celadon on the leaves...go for it!
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, thanks, now having second thoughts wondering if would be too many colors.
ReplyDeleteYou won't know till you try...
ReplyDeleteA beautiful bowl - however it is glazed.
Hi Sue, thanks, you always have sage advice. Ha.
ReplyDeleteI think you might have a run on orders for this bowl from your northern neighbours. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lee, thanks, today I made a orange red one and a brown one, hopefully you are right, we shall see.
