A while ago I grouped a small and large leaf plate together but the small leaf was too large for the pairing. So I made a group of smaller leaves. The one above shows the smaller leaf which fits much better on the plate. I made a set of four of these small and large leaves. What can these plates be used for? Not only sushi plates but could be individual appetizer plates with the small leaf for dipping sauce. I may make some small bowls which could also be set on the leaf plates for dressing for a salad. After all life is too short not to have a pretty plate to complement your epicurean creations. Ha.
Here's the previous example for you to compare. As you can see this smaller leaf is much too large for the pairing. Now as I look at the green leaves above, maybe the smaller leaf is too small. Whoa is me, I need to get a happy medium. Meanwhile, with my test leaves and these new leaf pairings, I have lots of leaves whatever their use. Ha. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
Nice leaves! I like the glaze on the bottom photo.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzi, thanks, isn't that a great color, at first I thought the orange was too bright but it really does show off the food. The green and gold leaf is nice too, the photo i posted doesn't really show it's color very well.
ReplyDeleteWell you have found the size to shoot for. Great idea
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, thanks, yeah eventually. ha.
DeleteThese pairings look interesting.
ReplyDeleteHi Gigi, thanks so much.

ReplyDeleteHi Michele, thanks, I thought that coral was too bright, but it definitely growing on me.
