We finally made it to the lake. You can see we added a bimini top and a horseshoe grab bar to steady our footing getting into the boat. We were quoted $1100 and $900 by local canvas shops for the top. We got a top via internet for $149 and put it on ourselves. Several car problems and then lots of rain prevented us from going to the lake till today.
I'm not sure why we had to research and learn how to repair a car and tell the repair shop how to do it? For two different problems, one the cooling fan and the other the power steering pump. Sometimes it's so exhausting fighting with supposed experts who don't seem to care to do a good job.
As we were launching our boat we saw a couple coming in from fishing. They had caught a 36 in long bass. Amazing. Above you see us out on the lake. Gary is driving and I'm sitting in the back taking the photos. We went by several islands, on one island we saw a blue heron land in it's nest. Our fish finder told us there were lots of fish under the water. Gary mistakenly left the bait at home so we didn't do any fishing. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
Well done outfitting your boat for safety and convenience. I hope you have many days out on the water this summer!
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, thanks, the weather and car repairs have not been cooperating and next week seems to be another rain out, whoa is me.

ReplyDeleteBass is a beautiful fish to eat. We used to get them from the Noosa River...only at a certain time of the year.
Shopping online really is the way to go these days...good deals are available in all avenues. That's a terrific deal you got on the canopy.
