Last of the Autumn leaves are showing their colors. This is the coral bark maple I planted when we first moved here.
Here's a close up of the leaves.
The smaller crabapple I planted was hiding a nest made this Spring (sorry about the blurry photo).
A lonely blossom on the hardy gardenia.
The oaks have finally started to turn. They are always the last ones to do so here.
Tonight we're supposed to get down to 21 F so many of the leaves may just curl up and die. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
Isn't it fun to go around and take photos of the last of the color? The leaves are so lovely. I've carted my potted gardenia inside for the winter, and it's blessing me with losing it's leaves all over the living room floor.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara, thanks, I am surprised that these two can make it up here. supposedly the wider leaved ones are hardier than the thinner leaved ones. We have gotten down to 6 F and the newest growth suffered a bit of die back but they have recovered nicely, we live on a hill and they are near a wall and get southern exposure sun in winter so all that helps.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Fall photos Linda. You have captured the season beautifully :)
ReplyDeleteHi Denise, thanks, the oaks and maples are really nice this year here.
ReplyDeleteThe beauty of Mother Nature never disappoints. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lee, thanks, that's for sure.
